Physical and Mechanical Testing Laboratory Technician, Grade 4

Responsibilities:

Performing all types of physical and mechanical testing of materials:

• static tensile testing of specimens;
• impact bending testing of specimens at room and low temperatures;
• static bending testing of specimens;
• hardness measurement by Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers and Shore A methods on stationary and portable hardness testers;
• preparing micro- and macro-sections for metallographic examination;
• etching specimens in alkaline and acid solutions.
