Laboratory Technician for Electrical Insulating Materials

You are a good fit if you have:

and you are ready to:

• undergo training and certification in non-destructive testing.

The technician performs:

In-process quality control of surface preparation before applying anti-corrosion coatings and of the coating application.

Inspection of the product surface before coating:

• visual inspection of inner and outer surfaces;
• checking the marking;
• checking that tooling is installed correctly and intact;
• degreasing;
• degree of cleaning;
• surface roughness;
• dust level;
• measuring the surface temperature of the product.

Acceptance testing of anti-corrosion coatings:

• appearance;
• length of uncoated ends;
• bevel angle of the coating to the pipe body;
• coating thickness;
• holiday (dielectric continuity) testing;
• impact strength of the coating;
• adhesion of the coating to steel.

Inspection of abrasive materials and compressed air quality; monitoring microclimate conditions before testing and during anti-corrosion work; monitoring the time between the end of cleaning and the start of coating.
