CNC Programming Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Developing, implementing and maintaining CNC programs.
• Programming lathes, milling and boring machines and multi-function machining centres.
• Writing programs both at the CNC control and with CAD/CAM systems.
• Setting up and optimising machining processes.
• Selecting cutting tools, fixtures and cutting parameters.
• Proving out programs on the machines, making corrections and reducing machining time.
• Analysing design and process documentation.
• Working with process engineers, designers and production staff.
• Checking that parts comply with drawings and technical documentation.
• Taking part in launching new products into production.

• Higher or vocational technical education.
• At least 3 years of experience as a CNC programmer.
• Excellent knowledge of Siemens Sinumerik and FANUC controls.
• Hands-on experience programming lathes, milling and boring machines and machining centres.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, 3D models and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of metal machining technology and cutting tools.
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems (NX CAM, Mastercam, PowerMill, SolidCAM, SprutCAM or similar).
• Skills in optimising programs for productivity and machining quality.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection methods and accuracy requirements.

Nice to have:

• Experience with 4- and 5-axis machining centres.
• Experience introducing new machining technologies.
• Knowledge of Heidenhain controls.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes.
